First Visit -What to expect

An overwhelming majority of patients come to our clinic via referral from family or friends . Making that first appointment can be an anxious moment but it is also the first step towards returning to your daily activities without pain and keeping it that way.
 

Filling in the form

After making your first appointment, a confirmation of your appointment will be sent to you in the post. With this, will be our ‘Confidential New Patient Registration form’, which we will ask you to fill out and bring along with you to your first appointment. This form includes questions regarding your complaint(s) and basic information, for example name, age, occupation and your medical history, like past accidents and illnesses.
 

Interview

Once you have met your Chiropractor, he/she will discuss the information you have filled in on the form in much more detail with you and will listen to any additional confidential information you might want to share, this will be free of charge.
 

Examination

If we feel after the initial chat, that chiropractic can possibly help you , with your permission, we will begin the initial physical examination. For this you will be requested to undress to your underwear and put on one of our gowns. Following this we will complete a full, professional examination which includes checking your nerves, muscles and joints. Sometimes, parts of the examination might seem irrelevant to your complaint but we may find it additionally necessary to examine other systems in your body like the heart, blood pressure, lungs or abdomen. This ensures us that your complaint is suitable for chiropractic care. We may also use one of our state of the art scanners. The scanning procedures are non-invasive and non- painful, but help in determining the best possible treatment plan leading to the quickest results. These scans are included in the price of an examination.
 

Explain and Treat

After the initial examination, we will fully explain what we have found in simple, easy-to-understand language, with the aid of models and pictures. You will learn what the reasons are for your pain and discomfort and possible underlying causes. We will also explain what we feel the treatment plan should be and the types of treatments we would like to use. If we are happy with the examination results and feel it is safe to commence, then with your consent, we will begin with the treatment.
 

Monitor

We’ll monitoring your progress by making an additional scan (again free of charge) and re-performing tests that we did on the initial exam to see if your spinal mobility has improved.
