New Appointment: Simar Brar, Associate Chiropractor

One could say that Brightly socked, Canadian born Simar (Sim for short) already had an impressive career before he decided to become a Chiropractor. He graduated with from York University in Toronto with a Bachelors of Science, Specialised Honours, Kinesiology and Health Sciences degree before obtaining a CSEP Personal Trainer Certification.

We don’t know where he found the time to complete a marathon, work at the AFC Bournemouth Football Club and coach Youth Football teams next to all this, but perhaps you can ask him yourself!

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

My name is Simar, I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada where I graduated with a Bachelors of Science, Specialised Honours, Kinesiology and Health Sciences.

I also acquired my CSEP personal trainer certification and provided personal training services in the Greater Toronto Area.

I furthered my education by pursuing my passion for chiropractic care at AECC in Bournemouth. In my clinical year, I obtained an internship to work alongside AFC Bournemouth and Weymouth FC.

I’m very family-oriented as I come from a large family.

My mother and Aunt have been the primary reason that propelled my drive to become a chiropractor.

I have witnessed their long-standing issues with pain and disability. I am excited at the prospect that the knowledge and skills I have obtained will help others with similar ailments

What made you choose to apply for a role with Milton/Fornham Chiropractic?

I admire the confidence and cohesiveness the clinic has in the care they provide to their patients.

When I met the team their collaborative outlook mirrored that of my own.

Most importantly, it was easy to chat with everyone and the general ambience of the clinic really made me feel at home.

What do you know about Bury St Edmunds/Cambridge?

I know that Cambridge is the hub for growth and development as it has a world-class university that is well-renowned around the world.

I know it is rich in its historical background. I’m grateful for the opportunity to soon call it home and look forward to exploring it further.

What are you looking forward to most about working at the clinic?

I’m looking forward to being part of a unified network of individuals who share a common goal, to provide excellent quality of care to patients in a professional yet cordial environment.

What do you enjoy most about your line of work?

The ability to talk to people from all walks of life and to provide a positive change in simple activities of daily living, that can lead to improvements in overall health and well-being.

What would you say are the most common complaints you see day-to-day?

Chronic back pain and stiffness, neck pain and headaches.

What are the most challenging injuries or complaints to treat?

Fibromyalgia, degenerative disorders, poorly managed previous injuries.

You have been in chiropractic for some time, would you say that the industry has changed or the perception of it has changed in recent years? If so, how?

Absolutely, the general population are much more health conscious and take a proactive approach to manage their well-being.

This greater awareness motivates and encourages the public to seek and learn of the benefits of alternative forms of health care such as chiropractic.

Being more health conscious, the public is now looking for not only a solution to their ailments but a holistic preventative measure of healthcare.

This is what I believe chiropractic can provide.

How would you describe your style of patient care and your manner?

I treat every individual with an open-mind and warm-heart, providing the same level of compassion and dignity as if they were a member of my own family.

What interests do you have away from work?

I love playing soccer as I’ve been playing since I was 4 years old and various competitive levels.

I have also coached youth football teams in the Greater Toronto Area.

I enjoy long distance running as well, particularly taking part in marathons.

I’ve completed the Toronto Waterfront Marathon and I am looking forward to signing up to more in England.

Do you have any wacky Hobbies?

Ever since my first year of university back in Canada I’ve been collecting very funky socks to wear alongside my apparel.

I continue to do so to this date to keep an upbeat vibe.
